Planning Your Recreational Activities

The hotel features two resources to help you with recreational activities once you arrive. Hookipa Department, located in our lobby, is open daily to serve you. There, you'll find all the programs and activities offered complimentary to all registered hotel guest. For information on activities around Maui, the Ohana Fun Center, also located in our lobby, can assist with reservations for sightseeing excursions, ocean activities, and evening entertainment. The Ohana Fun Center invites you to come and taste the flavor of Hawaii by attending the Ohana Welcome Breakfast* for guests on the first or second morning of your stay. Held daily, our management staff will be on hand to officially welcome you to "Hawaii's Most Hawaiian Hotel" for a sumptuous breakfast buffet, accompanied by live Hawaiian music and hula, and serenades by our singing employees. Pu'u Keka'a (Black Rock)

Black Rock, also known as Pu'u Keka'a, was once revered as a place where the spirits would leap from this world to the next. Today, Pu'u Keka'a is known for exceptional snorkeling with shallow, clear water, colorful reefs and exotic sea creatures. Between November to May, humpback whales travel to the waters off of Ka'anapali, making it a whale-watching destination.

Whalers Village Shopping Center & Museum

Set beachfront in the center of Kaanapali Beach Resort, and strolls away from Kaanapali Beach Hotel, Whalers Village Shopping Center is a shopper's paradise with 90 stores featuring Maui's best assortment of art galleries, quality fashion, jewelry and dining. Whalers VIllage Museum also shares the history of Hawaii's whaling past and houses the world's largest collection of whaling memorabilia.

Lahaina Town

Favored by Hawaii's royalty for its climate, location, and surfing, the historic town of Lahaina has something for everyone.

Familiarize yourself with the town by taking a stroll along Front Street with the ocean on one side and shops, galleries and restaurants on the other.

Visit Lahaina harbour to take whale watch and snorkel tours, surf lessons or fishing charters.

Take the Historicial Trail, mapping Lahaina's historical sites and buildings and ending at Banyan Tree Park, home to the second largest Banyan tree in the world. On weekends and Holidays the 145 year old tree is host to local artists, crafters and musicians.
