Frequently Asked Questions
Beach & Ocean
When do the whales visit Maui waters?
Humpback whales are usually spotted beginning in November, however
the peak months for seeing whales in Hawaiian waters are January
through April. Click here for more information about Maui's humpback whales.
Do you have to cross the road to get to the
beach?
No, Kaanapali Beach Hotel is truly “on the beach.”
The beach begins where our property ends. There is a paved walkway
that connects all the hotels, condominiums, and Whaler’s
Village Shopping Center along the beach. This allows you to enjoy
the beach without necessarily having to walk in the sand. (Very
nice for those in wheelchairs.)
Is the beach exclusive to guests
of the hotel?
No, there is no private beach in Hawaii. All beach areas have
public access.
