What is Kaanapali Beach Hotel’s Best Rate Guarantee?
Kaanapali Beach Hotel guarantees that you will receive the lowest publicly available room rate when booking your room reservation online. This guarantee applies to reservations for guest rooms only, with no inclusions other than daily breakfast. The lower room rate must be published, available to book online and be available to the general public for identical booking details such as room type, dates of stay and number of guests. What is the rating for your hotel?
Kaanapali Beach Hotel is usually given a rating of 3 to 4 stars by most travel companies. It is best described as a moderately priced, first class property on Maui.

Is the hotel a part of a chain?
No, Kaanapali Beach Hotel is an independently owned and managed hotel.

Will I receive a real experience of Hawaiian culture?
Yes, the hotel is committed to providing a true Hawaiian vacation experience for its guests through an ongoing educational employee training program in Hawaiian culture. The atmosphere is casual with all the comforts of gracious service, where guests feel like one of our family.

When is the best time to visit Maui?
The weather is mild and comfortable all year long. In “summer” (June–September), the average temperature is 85 Degrees F. During “winter”, the average is 78 Degrees F. Kaanapali receives approximately 12 inches of rainfall annually. On most days we enjoy gentle ocean breezes known as tradewinds.

What are considered Maui's high and low visitor seasons?
The peak periods for visitors taking Hawaii vacations and Maui vacations are the months of February & March, July & August, and the holiday period of December 24-31. Although Kaanapali Beach Hotel is consistently popular with guests, you will find greater availability for special promotions and discount travel packages during off-peak months.

Do you have different hotel rates during high seasons?
During the holiday period, for arrivals from December 24 to December 31, there is an additional $10 charge per night (as noted in the published rate table). However, unlike many Hawaii hotels, we do not increase our rates during the high season months of February, March, July, and August. We recommend booking well in advance (2 to 3 months ahead) for travel during these peak months in order to confirm the package and room type you want.

Are there any special Maui vacation offers for seniors, corporate travelers, families and other specific travel groups?

Can I book airfare to Maui with a room or package?
Yes. Kaanapali Beach Hotel has partnered with Get2Hawaii's Online Travel Services. You can book discounted airfare and rental car.

Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes. A coin operated laundry is located on the first floor of the Molokai Wing and on the first floor of the Lanai Wing, adjacent to Housekeeping Department. If you need change, you may see them until 10 p.m. After 10 p.m. you may get change from the Front Desk in the lobby. The laundry is open 24 hours. Single-load Tide and Cheer detergent and Downy softener are available for purchase.
Valet laundry and dry cleaning service is also available, and items placed in Housekeeping by 7 a.m. are returned the same day by 6 p.m. Items arriving after 7 a.m. will be back by 7 a.m. the following day (except for Saturday, as there is no service on Sunday).

How big are your guest rooms?
Rooms average 425 square feet and are fully air-conditioned, each with a private lanai (balcony).
 
Do any of your rooms have kitchens?
No, all rooms have mini-refrigerators, coffee makers, iron & ironing board, and hairdryers for guest convenience. Guest rooms also feature color cable TV, clock radios, and bedding to comfortably sleep up to 4 people, either in two double beds or a king with a twin daybed.

How do I request a non-smoking room?
You can make a non-smoking request at the time of making your booking. If you book on this website, please include "non-smoking room" in the comments section at the bottom of the online booking form. Kaanapali Beach Hotel's room inventory is 80% non-smoking in accordance with Hawaii State law. Please note that we do not have smoking rooms but we do offer some selected smoking floors where smoking is permitted on the room's lanai.  Smoking in the room will result in a deep cleaning fee.

Do you have a workout room on property?
No. The nearest public gym facility is Valley Isle Fitness, a 10-15 minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Valley Isle Fitness is located at the Fairway Shops in Kaanapali (808) 667-7474. Directions: Turn right outside of our hotel (Kaanapali Parkway), then turn left onto Kekaa Drive and proceed up the hill. At the top, turn right into the Fairway Shops.

Do you have a spa or salon on property?

How can I access the Internet while staying at KBH?
The rooms at Kaanapali Beach Hotel have high-speed internet access for use with your own laptop. The fee of $9.95 per day is subject to change without notice. The business center, which is located in the lobby of the hotel, offers computer and Internet access 24-hours each day for a minimum charge.  

Late Check-out
A late check-out may be available for guests requesting this service. Guests may inquire with our Front Desk the evening before departure and will be assessed a $90.00 fee when checking out between the hours of 11am and 6pm.  Departures after 6pm will be assessed a full day’s room charge and may be arranged in advance with our Reservations staff at 1-800-262-8450.  Applicable taxes will apply.

How many restaurants does Kaanapali Beach Hotel have?
There are two restaurants. The Kaanapali Mixed Plate Restaurant is a buffet style casual restaurant providing a variety of dishes at affordable prices. The Tiki Terrace Restaurant is open air, and serves seafood and fresh fish specialties as well as a variety of steak and chicken entrees. Executive Chef Thomas Muromoto has won several Taste of Lahaina awards with signature dishes from the Tiki Terrace Restaurant.
As another option, we also offer our poolside Tiki Grill & Bar, serving grilled items and cold drinks.

Do your restaurants have non-smoking sections?
Both the Tiki Terrace and Kaanapali Mixed Plate Restaurants are entirely non-smoking.

What about entertainment?

Nightly dance music and a hula show provide complimentary entertainment each evening from 6-9pm in our courtyard. Luaus, sunset cruises, movie theaters, concerts, and theatre productions are all available on Maui.

Do you have gift amenities that we can order for our friends coming to stay at your hotel?

FAQS – BEACH & OCEAN


When do the whales visit Maui waters?

Humpback whales are usually spotted beginning in November, however the peak months for seeing whales in Hawaiian waters are January through April. Read more about Maui's humpback whales.

Do you have to cross the road to get to the beach?

No. Kaanapali Beach Hotel is truly “on the beach.” The beach begins where our property ends. There is a paved walkway that connects all the hotels, condominiums, and Whaler’s Village Shopping Center along the beach. This allows you to enjoy the beach without necessarily having to walk in the sand. (Very nice for those in wheelchairs.)

Is the beach exclusive to guests of the hotel?
No, there is no private beach in Hawaii. All beach areas have public access.



FAQS – SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS 
 

If this vacation is a celebration (anniversary, honeymoon, etc.), do you offer anything special?
Yes. Honeymoon or Anniversary bookings receive a space-available one category upgrade and champagne. "Honeymoon" or "Anniversary" must be mentioned at time of booking. One category upgrade only if space available upon check-in.

Can you help arrange my wedding ceremony?
The hotel has a lovely oceanfront garden for your ceremony. Our catering department is at your service, with several indoor and outdoor locations and a wide selection of menus that can be customized to your specifications and budget. Is your property accessible for guests in wheelchairs?
Yes. From the front entrance to the beach, the hotel public areas are all on one level. There are elevators to most guest rooms, and we offer six special rooms designed to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act. Click here for complete details.

Do you have a children’s program?
Yes. We offer a special program for children 12 years and younger called "Aloha Passport for Kids." It's fun and participation is free! Designed to allow families quality time together, Aloha Passport for Kids is a guest amenity program rather than a drop-off kids' camp. Children and their parents begin by visiting our Guest Services staff to receive their Aloha Passport including their personalized Hawaiian name.

What about other special requests?
In the Reservations section of our web site is a sub-section called "Virtual Check-In." Here you’ll find a form that covers the entire check-in process that normally takes place upon arrival. This web form allows you to expedite time usually spent on paperwork, so you can get right to your Maui vacation. Special requests are invited, encouraged, and allow us to serve you better. You can also contact the Reservations Department at any time before arrival to discuss special requests.

Does Kaanapali Beach Hotel offer a Sunday Worship Service?
Yes. Every Sunday morning at the Garden Hale (pavilion) on the grounds of the hotel from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. This is a nondenominational service, so friends and family are invited to come for an uplifting beginning to the week next to the beautiful Hawaiian ocean. Presiding over the service is Reverend Beverly Powers of The Living Ministry.
 



FAQS – TRANSPORTATION



Can I fly to Maui directly?
Yes, many American carriers fly directly to Maui from US Mainland gateways including Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles & San Francisco on a daily basis. Depending on the season, several carriers offer flights from other major cities. The airport is located in Kahului (airport code OGG) and is approximately 25 miles (a scenic 45-minute drive) from the hotel.  Search for discounted air tickets to Maui.

Do I need to rent a car on Maui?
Many visitors find car rentals to be the most convenient option while visiting Maui. For those that may prefer not to rent a car, airport shuttle service can be arranged (see FAQ below), and complimentary shuttle transportation is available within the resort making stops at the golf course pro shop, the Sugar Cane Train depot, all hotels located in the Kaanapali Resort, and the Whaler’s Village Shopping Center. Please visit the Guest Services desk for information regarding public transportation schedules, paid shuttle service, and taxis.

Is there a shuttle service to and from the hotel?
Yes. From Kahului airport, we recommend SpeediShuttle. Visit their website at www.speedishuttle.com for more information.
 


FAQS – FEES & TIPPING



What is customary for tips in Hawaii?
For bellmen, $1 per bag; for valet, $2 per use. In restaurants, 18-20% is normal for good service.

Do you charge for parking?
Yes, $9 per day for self-parking and $11 per day for valet parking, with in-and-out privileges.

Do you have a resort fee or other mandatory service fees?

No, there are no mandatory fees. Room tax is currently 13.416% and General Excise Tax of 4.16% applies to all other purchases.
