About Ka'anapali Beach Hotel
It's easy enough to talk about being located right on Kaanapali Beach, one of the world's best beaches. Or about how close we are to Lahaina, golf courses, and other Maui attractions, which we are. What makes us unique is our dedication to creating a place where guests can truly experience the native culture of Hawaii. We practice the time-honored values that have made Hawaii such a beacon to travelers around the world – values like hookipa (hospitality), pookela (excellence) and kokua (helpfulness). We do it because we believe in sharing not just our island with you, but our way of life. Only then would you experience the true beauty of this island.
We are recognized as “Hawaii's Most Hawaiian Hotel.” And over the years, we've received recognition and awards from travel publications and organizations applauding our efforts to uphold our heritage. For us, these awards serve as incentive to raise our sights in delivering a guest experience that truly reflects our island home and native culture. So that we can share it with you.
The most common definition for "Kaanapali" is rolling hills, as it is set between the foothills of the 5,000 foot West Maui Mountains (Mauna Kahalawai), and the golden sands of one of the world's best beaches. Kaanapali Beach is approximately three miles long, and is divided by a lava cliff, commonly known as "Black Rock" and by the Hawaiians as Puu Kekaa.
The hotel is located just three miles from Lahaina Town, one of Maui's top visitor attractions. The property is low-rise, on eleven ocean front acres in the heart of the Kaanapali Resort, conveniently located between Black Rock and Whaler's Village Shopping Center & Museum. Just across the street are the Kaanapali Golf Courses, home of the Wendy's Championship Senior Skins Tournament.
Though moderately priced, Kaanapali Beach Hotel offers first class facilities and amenities. Our 432 guest rooms average 425 square feet in size with spacious lanais (balconies). Each room has either a king size bed with a twin daybed, or two double beds. High speed Internet, color cable TV, clock radio, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron & ironing board are standard amenities. The hotel offers connecting rooms in every category and rooms that meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards are available.
Kaanapali Beach Hotel has been bestowed with the accolade of “Hawaii's Most Hawaiian Hotel” and it's a designation we take seriously. As hosts to visitors from all over the world, it is a privilege to spotlight the native culture as we practice its unique values – giving aloha from the heart.
The Kaanapali Beach Hotel Mission Statement was written by employees in 1986.
At the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, we embody the Hawaiian meaning of hospitality, hookipa, and we share the aloha spirit with our guests while providing quality service. This spirit comes from the heart, shows in our faces, and is a part of our daily work life. Weaving together our Hawaiian heritage and our local lifestyle, we care for our guests in many thoughtful, personal ways which bring them back to us again and again.
We at Kaanapali Beach Hotel strive for excellence, pookela, in everything we do. We are professionals and treat each other with respect, courtesy, honesty and fairness. We believe in informality which encourages open and direct communication.
We cherish a happy place where we have fun and smile both in our hearts and our faces; a place where we are recognized and rewarded for our achievement; a place where we can use our creativity and our unlimited potential to become whatever we want to be; a place where we can build a career and security for our families. We also recognize the importance of our community as we gladly respond to its call for support throughout the year.
Although we come from different places and ethnic backgrounds, our commitment to common goals and values keeps us together as a family. This strong sense of family is the pillar of our strength. We prize the traditional values of love, respect, and kokua. We demonstrate this in our willingness to help one another whenever needed. We believe that alu like or working together as a family is the basis for achieving pookela.
We appreciate the beauty of our hotel and our island surroundings and we realize that we must preserve it for ourselves and our visitors. We at Kaanapali Beach Hotel recognize the need to enhance our sense of place for the mana of the land, its Hawaiian past, present, and future, because this is the essence of our being the most Hawaiian hotel.
