The most common definition for "Kaanapali" is rolling
hills, as it is set between the foothills of the 5,000 foot West
Maui Mountains (Kahalawai, in Hawaiian), and the golden sands
of one of the world’s best beaches. Kaanapali Beach is approximately
three miles long, and is divided by a lava cliff, known commonly
as "Black Rock" and by the Hawaiians as Puu Kekaa. Each
evening at sunset, there is ceremonial torch lighting and cliff
diving at Black Rock, as sunny days give way to starry nights,
this tradition enthralls our visitors and has become a resort
signature.
Kaanapali Beach Hotel was created to be the moderately priced
first class hotel that it is today. Located just 3 miles north
of Lahaina town, one of Maui's top visitor attractions.
The hotel consists of three, 6-story buildings and one 3-story
building on eleven ocean front acres. We are in the heart of the
Kaanapali Resort, conveniently located between Black Rock and
the Whaler's Village Shopping Center & Museum. With the Kaanapali
Golf Courses adjacent, this central location is perfect for a
vacation on Maui!
Our property is simply designed. Our 432 guest rooms average 425
square feet in size with spacious lanais (balconies). Each room
has either a king size bed with a twin daybed, or two double beds.
Color cable TV, clock radio, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron &
ironing board are standard amenities. The hotel offers connecting
rooms in every category and rooms that meet the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) standards are available.
Acres of lawn surrounding a whale-shaped swimming pool are dotted
with mature canopy trees providing a natural filter from the sun.
Guests can enjoy hours outdoors and simply move their lawn chairs
to another spot to be comfortable. So whether you’re coming
to work on a tan, or enjoy the breeze under the shade while reading
a good book, Kaanapali Beach Hotel's comfortable courtyard is
at your doorstep.
