Melveen Leed at Kaanapali Beach Hotel - June 27, July 25, and August 29, 2008
Kaanapali Beach, Maui, Hawaii - The “Hawaiian Country Girl”, Melveen Leed, will perform a summer concert series at Kaanapali Beach Hotel June 27th, July 25th and August 29th, 2008. Each complimentary “Kaanapali Serenade” performance will take place on the Tiki Courtyard stage from 6-9pm, and is a rare opportunity to enjoy the unique musical stylings of one of Hawaii’s legendary performers.
Melveen Leed’s Kaanapali Beach Hotel performance will be feature special guest slack-key guitar artist, Kiks, and other celebrity friends.
Melveen Leed was born and raised on the island of Molokai, and is one of Hawaii’s premier performers. She released her first album in 1966, and began a career that took her on stage to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and abroad. In 1978, she won the Na Hoku Hanohano award for “Best Female Vocalist of the Year”. With over 27 recordings to her credit, Melveen Leed was part of the group known as the “Local Divas”, which included Carol Kai, Loyal Garner and Nohelani Cypriano.
