A variety of Hawaiian activities are scheduled daily. We invite you to have fun and immerse yourself in our culture. This is where your life-long Hawaiian memories begin. Read descriptions below of the wonderful activities we offer! See our schedule of activities and complementary activities..

Ukulele Lessons
Ukuleles are provided for a complimentary class where our guests of all ages will learn to play a fun Hawaiian mele (song).
Hula
Exercise your way into a great afternoon by participating in Hawaii’s best-known cultural activity. Hula is a beautiful art form, full of grace, rhythm and vitality; hula is the living embodiment of Hawaii’s heart and soul.
Hula Show
Every night at sunset, the blowing of conch shells signals the beginning of the nightly hula show in the Tiki Courtyard. From 6:00pm you'll enjoy a complimentary performance of Hawaiian music and a hula show, followed by music for dancing under the stars until 9:00 pm.
Lei Making
Come learn a unique way to share love and aloha. Learning how to string exotic and colorful flowers is a fun experience. As with many activities, we include Hawaiian story telling which provides you with an afternoon beyond compare.
Cultural Garden Tour
Although our building is modern, with all the amenities, our grounds are a cultural resource. Tours of the hotel grounds provide our guests with insights into Hawaii's unique native and introduced flora and fauna. Our experienced employees are always eager to provide our guests a complete understanding of the role in which our nature plays in Hawaiian life.
Lauhala Weaving
Experience and appreciate one of Hawaii’s fine arts by creating a personalized bookmark, made from the leaves of the pandanus tree.
Pineapple Cutting
Sample the sweet, refreshing taste of pineapple as our staff demonstrates the art of pineapple cutting. Pineapples are enjoyed in various ways; some of the best-known local ways will surely be experienced at this demonstration.
Create Your Own Hawaiian Note Card
A picture perfect vacation may start or end with a postcard to a dear friend or family member. Create your own using ancient tools such as bamboo or ohe kapala. The Hawaiian note card making class utilizes these tools, which once decorated traditional Kapa or fabric worn in old Hawaii.
Sand Images (Kii Pohaku)
Prior to typewriters, computers or cameras, the only way to capture the past was to etch it in stone. Today, we copy this style of art for you to take home. Our staff will help you make a one-of-a-kind memory using Kaanapali Beach sand and plaster.
Storytelling – Na Molelo O Hawaii Nei
Visits to Hawaii are greatly enhanced every time one is immersed into the culture. Through storytelling, we are able to share our rich culture and Hawaii’s deep-rooted heritage. These stories range from the first migration of the Hawaiian people, their lifestyle, and their mele (songs and chants written in yester year).
Hawaiian Music
Sparked by a desire to learn and share following a Pookela class on Hawaiian music, the employees delight in serenading guests with traditional and contemporary favorites. Daily, employees from different departments convene in various hotel locations to entertain with songs and hula. The employees have even produced two award-winning CDs!
